Chocolate Covered Apples

Chocolate covered apples are a quick, easy and kid friendly dessert or snack made using fresh apples dipped in your favorite chocolate and topped with your favorite nuts or candy.

Line a sheet pan with wax paper and set aside for now.

Step 1:

Using a sharp knife, slice the apples starting at the top, through to the bottom.

Step 2:

Each medium apples should yield about 4 - 5 slices. Use a spoon or small mellon baller to remove any seeds or fibrous core.

Step 3:

Insert a food grade popsicle stick half way up the inside of the apple slice. The popsicle is optional.

Step 4:

Pour the dark, milk or white chocolate and coconut oil (if using) into a large microwave safe bowl. Heat in 30 second increments in the microwave until the chocolate is fully melted. Stir the chocolate in between each increment.

Step 5:

Dip each of the apple slices into the melted chocolate until both sides are coated in the melted chocolate. Place the chocolate coated apple slice onto the prepared baking sheet. Top with your preferred toppings.

Step 6:

Chill the dipped apples in the fridge for 1 - 2 hours or in the freezer for about 30 - 45 minutes.
