Air fryer biscuits are soft, flaky and fluffy homemade buttermilk biscuits made in the air fryer. These easy to make air fry biscuits are made with 6 simple ingredients.
Pulse the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a food processor until well combined. If using a bowl, whisk the dry ingredients together until well combined.
Once the dry ingredients are mixed together pulse in evenly cubed pieces of cold butter until well combined with pea sized pieces of butter. Alternatively use a pastry cutter to ct the butter into the dry ingredients.
Remove the blade from the food processor. Pour the cold buttermilk into the food processor. Uusing a spoon mix the dry ingredients with the buttermilk until just combined. If needed, transfer the dry ingredients into a bowl and then mix in the cold buttermilk.
Turn out the buttermilk biscuit dough onto a lightly floured surface. Gather the dough into a 1 ½ inch thick disk if making round biscuits or rectangle if making square biscuits. Fold the dough in half or thirds. Gently press the dough back into the same 1 ½ inch disk or rectangle. Repeat once more.
Cut the dough into rounds using a 2 inch biscuit butter dipped in flour. The dough should yield 6 - 8 biscuits. Transfer the cut biscuits to a small lined baking sheet or large plate. Chill in the fridge for 15 minutes.
Preheat the air fryer to 375 (190 C). Spray the basket of the air fryer with non stick spray. Place 4 chilled canned or homemade biscuits about 2 inches apart into the pre-heated, lightly greased air fryer.
Air fry for 8 - 12 minutes or until golden brown on the top. Melt 1 - 2 tablespoons of butter in a small bowl. Brush the tops of the air baked biscuits with the melted butter and serve.
