Whisk in the egg until lightly beaten. Whisk in the maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined. Once the wet ingredients have been whisked in, stir in the cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and almond flour. If you would like, stir in 1 tablespoon chocolate chips as well.
