This easy peach salsa recipe combines fresh peaches, lime juice, and crisp vegetables for a sweet and savory dish that's bursting with vibrant flavor. It’s perfect as a homemade dip for chips, a topping for tacos, grilled chicken or fish, or as a refreshing summer side dish.
Wash and pat dry the peaches, tomatoes, bell peppers, cilantro and jalapenos. Peel, slice and dice the peaches. If using fresh peaches, peel the skin from the peach, remove the seed and slice the peach into 8 segments. Dice the segments into ½ sized pieces. If using frozen peaches, thaw the peaches until they are cool and no longer frozen to the touch before using in the salsa recipe.
3 cups diced peaches
Dice the tomatoes and bell peppers and jalapenos. Add the diced peaches, tomatoes and bell peppers to a large mixing bowl. Remove the seeds for a barely spicy salsa. For more spicy heat, add the seeds of the jalapenos into the salsa. Remove the outer layer of onion skin from the red onion. Dice the onion and add to the salsa.
2 cups diced tomatoes, 1 cup diced bell pepper (red, yellow or orange), ½ - 1 cup finely diced red onion, 1 - 2 diced jalapenos
Finally, finely chop the cilantro and add it to the peach salsa. Zest the lime into the peach salsa. Squeeze the fresh lime juice directly into the diced fruit, veggies and cilantro Add salt and freshly cracked black pepper to the salsa. Gently toss the ingredients together. Taste and adjust the seasonings or ingredients as needed.
¼ - ½ cup chopped cilantro, 1 lime zested, 2 - 3 tablespoons (30 - 45 ml) fresh lime juice, ¼ - ½ teaspoon salt, to taste, ⅛ teaspoon pepper, to taste
Serve the fresh peach salsa with chips or use as a sweet and spicy topping for fish tacos, chicken or other savory dishes. Cover the peach salsa and store in the fridge for up to 1 day. Make sure to gently remix the ingredients if you plan on serving later.
Notes
Store: Store peach salsa in an air tight container in the fridge for up to 2 - 3 days. Although, this fresh sweet and spicy salsa is best enjoyed within 1 day of being made. Tip: Taste as you go. Make the recipe as directed and then taste. Want more heat, add more jalapenos (with the seeds). Need more acidity, add more lime. If the peach salsa isn’t flavorful enough, I suggest adding a pinch more salt.
