Rice pudding with condensed milk is a rich and creamy dish made with rice, sweetened condensed milk and a few other ingredients. This cozy, warmly spiced rice pudding is perfect for a comforting breakfast or dessert.
Add water and rice to a large sauce pan or heavy bottom pot. Bring the rice and water to a boil over medium high heat. Once the water and rice starts to boil, cover the pot or sauce pan, reduce the temperature to low and simmer for about 10 minutes.
2 cups (480 ml) water, 1 cup (180 g) white rice
After the 10 minutes is up, uncover the sauce pan. Stir in the milk, condensed milk, ground cinnamon and nutmeg and salt. If you would like to add raisins, stir in up to ½ cup raisins at this time. Stir well to combine all the ingredients together. Increase the temperature to medium and continue to cook the rice pudding for about 15 - 20 minutes or until thickened and creamy.
2 cups (480 ml) whole milk, 14 oz. condensed milk, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, plus more for topping, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon salt
Remove the condensed milk rice pudding from the heat. Stir the vanilla extract into the hot rice pudding. Scoop the rice pudding into a serving dish or bowl. If you would like, dust the rice pudding with more cinnamon or top with nuts or fruit and enjoy.
2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract, optional
