How To Store and Serve
- Store: Transfer any leftover chocolate dump cake into an airtight container to store in the fridge for up to 3 - 4 days. Do not store this cookies and cream dump cake in the same dish as it was baked in. The condensed milk caramelizes and the cake will stick on the pan once completely cooled.
- Serve: The best way to serve this chocolatey Oreo fudge cake is warm from the oven with a big scoop of cold vanilla ice cream or freshly whipped cream on top!
M’s Expert Tips
- Grease the bottom and sides of the baking dish with about 1 tablespoon (14 g) softened butter. This helps to prevent the cookies from sticking to the bottom.
- Add more butter. After topping the cake mix with thinly sliced pats of butter, drizzle about 4 tablespoons of melted butter on any spaces left uncovered by the sliced butter. This helps ensure there are no pieces of dried cake mix.
- Check at 30 minutes. This is a good time to add a little more melted butter on any spots of dry cake mix that may have no melted butter on top. Simply drizzle a little more butter on those spots and continue baking for another 10 - 20 minutes.
- Let the cake rest, but not for too long. Give this Oreo cookie dump cake about 5 minutes to rest and cool slightly and then serve. This cake will still be delicious after this time, but the gooey, fudgy cookies and cream texture will begin to harden as it cools.
