Ingredients
This rich and creamy tiramisu strawberry dessert requires only a handful of ingredients to make and you probably already have them in your pantry and fridge! Here’s what you’ll need to make this easy berry tiramisu cake.

Gather seedless strawberry jam, orange juice, water, heavy cream, powdered sugar, mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, ladyfinger cookies and fresh strawberries.
Substitutions
Here are my recommended substitutions to make this strawberry filled tiramisu if you need them.
- Seedless Strawberry Jam: The seedless jam will ensure the strawberry mixture resembles more of a smooth sauce or syrup. If you don’t mind seeds, feel free to use any strawberry jam you like.
- Orange Juice and Water: This is used to thin the strawberry jam into more of a liquid syrup. Feel free to swap the orange juice or water for strawberry or other berry juice. If you prefer to use alcohol in this fruit version, feel free to swap out some or all of the orange juice or water for your favorite orange flavored liquor.
- Savoiardi Ladyfinger Cookies: This is the ladyfinger cookie used to make classic tiramisu. If you prefer to use something less traditional, feel free to use vanilla oreo cookies or Nilla wafers. Follow the rest of the recipe as written.
- Mascarpone Cheese: This is a classic ingredient in tiramisu. There is no other substitute for mascarpone.
- Heavy Cream: This is combined with the mascarpone to cerate a creamy, rich and light filling that’s similar to a traditional mascarpone filling in a classic tiramisu.
- Powdered Sugar: The cornstarch from the powdered sugar will stabilize the mascarpone filling even more than regular sugar. Feel free to use ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar in place of the powdered sugar.
- Vanilla Extract: This provides a lovely background flavor for the other flavors of the tiramisu strawberry dessert. Omit if you don’t have this ingredient.
- Strawberries: Use fresh, ripe and sweet strawberries. This recipe hasn’t been tested using frozen strawberries. If you would like to use frozen strawberries, make sure to fully thaw and mash or cut the berries into smaller pieces.

Variations
- Strawberry Tiramisu Parfaits: Make this tiramisu with strawberries dessert in individual cups by preparing the recipe components as listed in the recipe. Instead of assembling the berry tiramisu in an 8 x 8 dish, use (4 - 6) 6 - 8 oz. glasses to layer the ladyfinger cookies, mascarpone filling and strawberries. Cover the cups with plastic wrap, chill the tiramisu cups in the fridge for at least 4 hours, top with more fresh strawberries and enjoy.
- White Chocolate: Feel free to add a layer of shaved white chocolate on top of the fresh strawberries right before serving.
How To Make
Learn how to make strawberry tiramisu in a few easy steps.

- Prepare the strawberry syrup. Whisk the seedless strawberry jam, orange juice and water together to form a thin strawberry sauce. Set aside for now.
- In a mixing bowl fitted with whisk attachment, whip the heavy cream and ¼ cup powdered sugar to medium-stiff peaks. Transfer the whip cream to another bowl or use another mixing bowl to prepare the mascarpone filling.
- Switch to a paddle attachment. Cream the mascarpone cheese on low until very smooth. Scrape the bowl and repeat mixing as needed until the mascarpone is smooth across the bottom of the mixing bowl. On low, cream in the remaining powdered sugar and vanilla until well combined. Scrape sides and bottom of the bowl again. Fold in the whipped cream until smooth and well combined.

4. To assemble the strawberry tiramisu, dip both sides of one ladyfinger cookie at a time into the strawberry sauce or syrup. Place each strawberry dipped ladyfinger in single layer across the bottom of the dish. Top the ladyfinger layer with ½ of the mascarpone layer. Top the mascarpone layer with 1 cup sliced or diced strawberries. Repeat dipping the ladyfingers into the strawberry syrup and layering them on top of the mascarpone layer. Finish by topping the ladyfingers with the remaining mascarpone filling. Cover the entire dish and chill in the fridge for at least 6 hours, but preferably overnight.

5. When it’s time to serve the tiramisu with strawberries, add another layer of fresh strawberries, dust the top with powdered sugar, slice and serve.
How To Store and Freeze
- Store: Keep this tiramisu strawberry dessert covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Freeze: Due to the fresh strawberries, this berry tiramisu doesn’t freeze well. However, this dish is the perfect make ahead dessert.

M’s Expert Tips
- Bring the mascarpone to room temperature. This allows the mascarpone to mix together more evenly with the sugar and without needing to overmix which can lead to the cheese breaking.
- Helpful tip. If the mascarpone is too cold to easily cream into a smooth even texture after sitting out for 1 hour, heat up a damp dish towel in the microwave for 30 - 45 seconds. Carefully remove the towel and wrap it around the bottom of the mixing bowl. Mix the mascarpone on low. The heat from the towel will soften the cheese while it’s mixing. Remove the towel from the bottom of the bowl as soon as the cheese is smooth.
- Go low and slow. Mix the mascarpone at the lowest speed and just it is smooth. This is not an issue when whipping the heavy cream. However, it is important to keep an eye on the heavy cream as it’s mixing once you start to see some soft peaks forming while the cream is mixing.
- Fully coat the ladyfingers. Make sure to fully dip both sides of the ladyfinger cookies in the strawberry syrup. They don’t need to soak in the syrup, but make sure to fully coat the cookie before layering into the dish.
- Boost the strawberry flavor. For even more strawberry flavor warm up ¼ cup seedless strawberry jam and mix 1 cup fresh sliced strawberries into the jam, fully coating the slices. Then layer the berries in between the ladyfingers and mascarpone. When it’s time to serve, you can repeat with the remaining cup of fresh strawberries meant for topping.
- Make sure to chill the italian strawberry dessert for at least 4 - 6 hours. The longer the dessert has time to chill and soften, the tastier the results will be.
